Role Overview
Aqovia is seeking a tech-savvy IT Support Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology, problem-solving, and process improvement.
You will join our Digital Solutions & Technology team and play a key role in executing an ambitious technical roadmap.
The role involves managing IT operations, resources, and support for a team of up to 80 people working in a hybrid structure (using both PC and Mac systems).
Key Responsibilities
Hardware ordering and procurement
- Assess hardware needs for new and existing employees in collaboration with HR and Recruitment.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate bulk purchasing contracts.
- Monitor and manage the IT equipment budget.
Configuration and Provisioning
- Install required operating systems and software packages (Aqovia/Neuer Energy builds).
- Set up and manage user accounts and system access.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection regulations.
Servicing, Repairs & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues quickly and effectively.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates.
- Coordinate warranty and repair services with external providers.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for users (both remote and onsite).
- Resolve IT issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Logistics Management
- Coordinate delivery and setup for new hires.
- Manage the secure return, refurbishment, and disposal of equipment for departing employees.
- Ensure secure data deletion and environmentally responsible hardware recycling.
Help Desk and User Support
- Set up and manage a ticketing system to track and resolve IT support requests.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all internal users.
- Maintain response and resolution time targets.
Asset and Licence Management
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets.
- Track device lifecycles and plan for upgrades or replacements.
- Maintain and monitor project licences (primarily subscription-based).
- Pay, renew, extend, and assess the longevity and cost-effectiveness of subscriptions.
- Ensure all software licences and warranties remain current.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT processes, configurations, and asset histories.
- Prepare and update IT policy documentation and user guides.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.
Bid and Project Support
- Read and identify relevant bid opportunities.
- Follow up on bid results and track outcomes.
- Write bid responses and proposals with input from technical and business teams.
- Create and maintain bid collateral and supporting materials.
- Handover completed bids and projects to the project response manager as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365 and common collaboration tools.
- Experience setting up and managing ticketing systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and multitasking skills.
- Strong business communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in IT support, procurement, and licence management.
- A customer-service-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Good understanding of networking, security, and device management principles.
